Dr. Amy Little
DVM BSc, Diplomate ACVS
CARE Centre, Calgary

Dr. Amy Little is currently a staff surgeon at the CARE Centre.  Originally from Calgary, she completed her Bachelor of Science (zoology) from the University of Calgary (1999).  She received her doctor of veterinary medicine with distinction at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. After her DVM degree, she then completed a rotating small animal internship at Washington State University (2003-2004), followed by a small animal surgery internship at Cornell University Hospital for Animals (2004-2005).  She then continued on at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals to complete her surgery residency in 2008. During that time she spent time teaching and working with students and other residents, participating in research studies and presenting this information at national and international conferences. In 2009 she was admitted into the college of veterinary surgeons becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.  After her residency she moved back west to the greater Seattle area and worked at a large specialty practice in the greater Seattle area and then in June 2011 moved to the CARE Centre.
Dr. Little performs a variety of soft tissue, oncologic, orthopedic and neurologic procedures. She strives to create the best care for both the animals and their owners with focused care, strong communication and education. She especially enjoys working in a specialty center where all aspects of each animal’s care and medical conditions can be addressed in a team fashion.
