Hospital Manager

A PRIMARY CARE small animal veterinary clinic in Calgary, Alberta Canada is seeking an experienced individual to join the veterinary team as Hospital Manager. The Hospital Manager is a leader and an integral member of the veterinary team.

A wide range of administrative duties will be required including overseeing the day to day business operations. The hospital manager runs a smooth and profitable operation by driving revenue and managing costs while creating a hospital culture based on high quality patient care and exceptional client service.

The position requires excellent interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills.  The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in the following areas: human resources, personnel management, marketing, finances and financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, budget management, facility oversight, building maintenance, business development, inventory control & purchasing, scheduling, resolving computer issues, managing social media & community events, maintaining and updating the website, ensuring client satisfaction, problem solving and conflict resolution. 

Job Responsibilities

·         Lead all staff toward the common goal of high quality patient care and excellent client service.

·         Develop objectives and policies to ensure efficient and profitable clinic operations.

·         Work in a hands-on capacity to serve as a role model for all staff.

·         Oversee the hiring, reviewing, disciplining and terminating of the staff.

·         Be willing to assist and support all employees to make the practice a success.

·         Be successful at all required responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic.

·         Supervise the administration and case review of client medical complaints.

Skills and Qualifications

·         2 to 3 years of veterinary management experience.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         The ability to make decisions, delegate responsibility and achieve results.

·         Professional demeanor and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, positive attitude.

·         Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets.

·         Must be able to handle multiple tasks and deal with an environment of changing priorities.
